BNV : অবশালোম নামে দায়ূদের এক পুত্র ছিল| অবশালোমের বোন ছিল তামর| তামর ছিল অত্যন্ত সুন্দরী| দায়ূদের আর এক পুত্র অম্নোন
KJV : And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name [was] Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
YLT : And it cometh to pass afterwards that Absalom son of David hath a fair sister, and her name [is] Tamar, and Amnon son of David loveth her.
RV : And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
RSV : Now Absalom, David's son, had a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar; and after a time Amnon, David's son, loved her.

ERVEN : David had a son named Absalom. Absalom had a very beautiful sister named Tamar. Another one of David's sons, Amnon, was in love with Tamar.

BNV : তামরকে ভালোবেসেছিল| তামর ছিল কুমারী| অম্নোন কখনও ভাবে নি যে সে তামরের প্রতি কোন খারাপ ব্যবহার করবে| কিন্তু অম্নোন তাকে প্রচণ্ডভাবে চাইত| অম্নোন তামর সম্পর্কে প্রচণ্ড চিন্তা করত এবং একসময় সে ভান করে নিজেকে অসুস্থ করে তুলল|
KJV : And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she [was] a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.
YLT : And Amnon hath distress -- even to become sick, because of Tamar his sister, for she [is] a virgin, and it is hard in the eyes of Amnon to do anything to her.
RV : And Amnon was so vexed that he fell sick because of his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and it seemed hard to Amnon to do any thing unto her.

ERVEN : She was a virgin. Amnon wanted her very much, but he did not think it was possible for him to have her. He thought about her so much that he made himself sick.

BNV : শিমিযের পুত্র য়োনাদব অম্নোনের বন্ধু ছিল| (শিমিয ছিল দায়ূদের ভাই|) য়োনাদব প্রচণ্ড চালাক ছিল|
KJV : But Amnon had a friend, whose name [was] Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab [was] a very subtil man.
YLT : And Amnon hath a friend, and his name [is] Jonadab, son of Shimeah, David`s brother, and Jonadab [is] a very wise man,

BNV : য়োনাদব তাকে বলল, “প্রতিদিনই তুমি রোগা হয়ে যাচ্ছ! তুমি তো রাজার পুত্র| তোমার তো খাওয়ার অভাব নেই, তাহলে কেন তোমার স্বাস্থ্য় খারাপ হচ্ছে? আমাকে বল!”অম্নোন য়োনাদবকে বলল, “আমি তামরকে ভালোবাসি| কিন্তু সে আমার ভাই অবশালোমের বোন|”
KJV : And he said unto him, Why [art] thou, [being] the king’s son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.
YLT : and saith to him, `Wherefore [art] thou thus lean, O king`s son, morning by morning? dost thou not declare to me?` And Amnon saith to him, `Tamar -- sister of Absalom my brother -- I am loving.`
RV : And he said unto him, Why, O son of the king, art thou thus lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom-s sister.
RSV : And he said to him, "O son of the king, why are you so haggard morning after morning? Will you not tell me?" Amnon said to him, "I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister."
ASV : And he said unto him, Why, O son of the king, art thou thus lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absaloms sister.
ESV : And he said to him, "O son of the king, why are you so haggard morning after morning? Will you not tell me?" Amnon said to him, "I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister."
ERVEN : He said to Amnon, "Every day you look thinner and thinner. You are the king's son. {You have plenty to eat, so why are you losing weight?} Tell me!" Amnon told Jonadab, "I love Tamar. But she is the sister of my half-brother Absalom."

BNV : য়োনাদব অম্নোনকে বলল, “যাও, বিছানায শুয়ে অসুস্থতার ভান কর| যখন তোমার পিতা তোমাকে দেখতে আসবেন তখন তাকে বলবে, ‘তামরকে আমার কাছে আসতে দিন| সে আমার জন্য খাবার আনুক| সে আমার সামনে আহার প্রস্তুত করুক| আমি তার রান্না করা দেখব এবং তার হাতে খাব|”
KJV : And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see [it,] and eat [it] at her hand.
YLT : And Jonadab saith to him, `Lie down on thy couch, and feign thyself sick, and thy father hath come in to see thee, and thou hast said unto him, `Let, I pray thee, Tamar my sister come in and give me bread to eat; and she hath made the food before mine eyes so that I see [it], and have eaten from her hand.`

ESV : Jonadab said to him, "Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, 'Let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.'"
ERVEN : Jonadab said to Amnon, "Go to bed. Act like you are sick. Then your father will come to see you. Tell him, 'Please let my sister Tamar come in and give me food to eat. Let her make the food in front of me. Then I will see it, and eat it from her hand.'"

BNV : এরপর অম্নোন বিছানায শুয়ে পড়ে অসুস্থতার ভান করল| রাজা দায়ূদ তাকে দেখতে এলেন| অম্নোন রাজা দায়ূদকে বলল, “আমার বোন তামরকে আমার কাছে আসতে দিন| আমার সামনে তাকে দুটো পিঠে বানাতে দিন| তারপর আমি ওর হাতেই পিঠে খাব|”
KJV : So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.
YLT : And Amnon lieth down, and feigneth himself sick, and the king cometh in to see him, and Amnon saith unto the king, `Let, I pray thee, Tamar my sister come, and she maketh before mine eyes two cakes, and I eat from her hand.`

ERVEN : So Amnon lay down in bed and acted like he was sick. King David came in to see Amnon. He said to King David, "Please let my sister Tamar come in. Let her make two cakes for me while I watch. Then I can eat from her hands."

BNV : দায়ূদ তামরের বাড়ীতে বার্তাবাহক পাঠালেন| বার্তাবাহক গিয়ে তামরকে বলল, “তোমার ভাই অম্নোনের বাড়ী যাও এবং তার জন্য খাবার তৈরী কর|”
KJV : Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat.
YLT : And David sendeth unto Tamar, to the house, saying, `Go, I pray thee, to the house of Amnon thy brother, and make for him food.`

ERVEN : David sent messengers to Tamar's house. They told her, "Go to your brother Amnon's house and make some food for him."

BNV : তখন তামর তার ভাই অম্নোনের বাড়ী গেল| অম্নোন বিছানায শুয়ে ছিল| তামর এক তাল মযদা নিয়ে দু হাতে মেখে পিঠে তৈরী করল| সে যখন এই সব করছিল তখন অম্নোন দেখছিল|
KJV : So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded [it,] and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.
YLT : And Tamar goeth to the house of Amnon her brother, and he is lying down, and she taketh the dough, and kneadeth, and maketh cakes before his eyes, and cooketh the cakes,
RV : So Tamar went to her brother Amnon-s house; and he was laid down. And she took dough, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.

ERVEN : So Tamar went to the house of her brother Amnon. Amnon was in bed. Tamar took some dough, pressed it together with her hands, and cooked the cakes. She did this while Amnon watched.

BNV : তারপর তামর চাটু থেকে পিঠেগুলিকে অম্নোনের জন্য বের করে আনলে| কিন্তু অম্নোন তা খেল না| অম্নোন তার ভৃত্যদের বলল, “এখান থেকে বেরিয়ে যাও| আমাকে একা থাকতে দাও|” তখন তার সব ভৃত্য ঘর থেকে বেরিয়ে গেল|
KJV : And she took a pan, and poured [them] out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.
YLT : and taketh the frying-pan, and poureth out before him, and he refuseth to eat, and Amnon saith, `Take ye out every one from me;` and they go out every one from him.

BNV : তখন অম্নোন তামরকে বলল, “খাবারগুলি আমার শোবার ঘরে নিয়ে এসো এবং আমাকে নিজে হাতে খাইযে দাও|”তখন তামর তার তৈরী করা পিঠেগুলি নিয়ে তার ভাইযের শোবার ঘরে গেল|
KJV : And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought [them] into the chamber to Amnon her brother.
YLT : And Amnon saith unto Tamar, `Bring the food into the inner chamber, and I eat from thy hand;` and Tamar taketh the cakes that she hath made, and bringeth in to Amnon her brother, into the inner chamber,
RV : And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the food into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

ERVEN : Then Amnon said to Tamar, "Bring the food into the bedroom and feed me by hand." So Tamar took the cakes she had made and went into her brother's bedroom.

BNV : সে যখন অম্নোনকে খাওয়াতে শুরু করেছে তখন অম্নোন তার হাত চেপে ধরল| সে তাকে বলল, “বোন, এসো আমার সঙ্গে শোও|”
KJV : And when she had brought [them] unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.
YLT : and she bringeth nigh unto him to eat, and he layeth hold on her, and saith to her, `Come, lie with me, my sister.`

ERVEN : She started to feed Amnon, but he grabbed her hand. He said to her, "Sister, come and sleep with me."

BNV : তামর অম্নোনকে বলল, “না ভাই! আমাকে এই সব করতে বাধ্য করো না| এই ধরণের লজ্জাজনক কাজ করো না| এই ধরণের ভয়াবহ কাজ ইস্রায়েলে হওয়া উচিত্‌ নয়|
KJV : And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
YLT : And she saith to him, `Nay, my brother, do not humble me, for it is not done so in Israel; do not this folly.
RV : And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
RSV : She answered him, "No, my brother, do not force me; for such a thing is not done in Israel; do not do this wanton folly.
ASV : And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
ESV : She answered him, "No, my brother, do not violate me, for such a thing is not done in Israel; do not do this outrageous thing.
ERVEN : Tamar said to Amnon, "No, brother! Don't force me to do this. Don't do this shameful thing! Terrible things like this should never be done in Israel!

BNV : আমি আমার লজ্জা থেকে কোনদিন মুক্তি পাব না| লোকরা ভাববে যে তুমি অপরাধীদের একজন| রাজাকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর, “তিনি তোমাকে আমায় বিয়ে করতে অনুমতি দেবেন|”
KJV : And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
YLT : And I -- whither do I cause my reproach to go? and thou -- thou art as one of the fools in Israel; and now, speak, I pray thee, unto the king; for he doth not withhold me from thee.`
RV : And I, whither shall I carry my shame? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
RSV : As for me, where could I crery my shame? And as for you, you would be as one of the wanton fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray you, speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you."
ASV : And I, whither shall I carry my shame? and as for thee, thou wilt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
ESV : As for me, where could I carry my shame? And as for you, you would be as one of the outrageous fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king, for he will not withhold me from you."
ERVEN : I would never get rid of my shame, and people would think that you are just a common criminal. Please, talk with the king. He will let you marry me."

BNV : কিন্তু অম্নোন তামরের কথা শুনল না| সে তামরের থেকে শক্তিশালী ছিল| সে তাকে নিজের সঙ্গে শারীরিক সম্পর্কে লিপ্ত হতে বাধ্য করল|
KJV : Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
YLT : And he hath not been willing to hearken to her voice, and is stronger than she, and humbleth her, and lieth with her.
RV : Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but being stronger than she, he forced her, and lay with her.
RSV : But he would not listen to her; and being stronger than she, he forced her, and lay with her.

ERVEN : But Amnon refused to listen to Tamar. He was stronger than Tamar, so he forced her to have sexual relations with him.

BNV : তারপর অম্নোন তামরকে ঘৃণা করতে শুরু করল| অম্নোন আগে তামরকে যতখানি ভালোবেসেছিল এখন তার থেকে বেশী ঘৃণা করতে লাগল| অম্নোন তামরকে বলল, “ওঠো এবং এখান থেকে বেরিয়ে যাও|”
KJV : Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her [was] greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
YLT : And Amnon hateth her -- a very great hatred -- that greater [is] the hatred with which he hath hated her than the love with which he loved her, and Amnon saith to her, `Rise, go.`
RV : Then Amnon hated her with exceeding great hatred; for the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
RSV : Then Amnon hated her with very great hatred; so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, "Arise, be gone."
ASV : Then Amnon hated her with exceeding great hatred; for the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
ESV : Then Amnon hated her with very great hatred, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, "Get up! Go!"
ERVEN : Then Amnon began to hate Tamar. He hated her much more than he had loved her before. Amnon said to Tamar, "Get up and get out of here!"

BNV : তামর অম্নোনকে বলল, “না! আমাকে এই ভাবে তাড়িয়ে দিও না| এমনকি আমার সঙ্গে একটু আগে যা করলে তার থেকেও সেটা খারাপ কাজ হবে|”অম্নোন তার কথা শুনল না|
KJV : And she said unto him, [There is] no cause: this evil in sending me away [is] greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.
YLT : And she saith to him, `Because of the circumstances this evil is greater than the other that thou hast done with me -- to send me away;` and he hath not been willing to hearken to her,
RV : And she said unto him, Not so, because this great wrong in putting me forth is {cf15i worse} than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.
RSV : But she said to him, "No, my brother; for this wrong in sending me away is greater than the other which you did to me." But he would not listen to her.
ASV : And she said unto him, Not so, because this great wrong in putting me forth is worse than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.
ESV : But she said to him, "No, my brother, for this wrong in sending me away is greater than the other that you did to me." But he would not listen to her.
ERVEN : Tamar said to Amnon, "No! Don't send me away like this. That would be even worse than what you did before!" But Amnon refused to listen to Tamar.

BNV : অম্নোন তার ভৃত্যদের ডেকে বলল, “এই মেয়েটাকে এখুনি আমার ঘর থেকে দূর করে দাও এবং দরজা বন্ধ করে দাও|”
KJV : Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this [woman] out from me, and bolt the door after her.
YLT : and calleth his young man, his servant, and saith, `Send away, I pray thee, this one from me without, and bolt the door after her;`
RV : Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.
RSV : He called the young man who served him and said, "Put this woman out of my presence, and bolt the door after her."
ASV : Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

ERVEN : He called his servant and said, "Get this girl out of this room, now! And lock the door after her."

BNV : তখন অম্মোনের ভৃত্যরা তামরকে ঘর থেকে দূর করে দিয়ে দরজা বন্ধ করে দিল|তামর বহু রঙে রঙিন একটা বড় কাপড় পরেছিল| রাজার কুমারী মেয়েরা এই ধরণের কাপড় পরতো|
KJV : And [she had] a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king’s daughters [that were] virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
YLT : -- and upon her [is] a long coat, for such upper robes do daughters of the king who [are] virgins put on, -- and his servant taketh her out without, and hath bolted the door after her.
RV : And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king-s daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
RSV : Now she was wearing a long robe with sleeves; for thus were the virgin daughters of the king clad of old. So his servant put her out, and bolted the door after her.
ASV : And she had a garment of divers colors upon her; for with such robes were the kings daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
ESV : Now she was wearing a long robe with sleeves, for thus were the virgin daughters of the king dressed. So his servant put her out and bolted the door after her.
ERVEN : So Amnon's servant led Tamar out of the room and locked the door. Tamar was wearing a long robe with many colors. The king's virgin daughters wore robes like this.

BNV : তামর সেই কাপড় ছিঁড়ে ফেলল এবং মাথায় কিছুটা ছাই দিল| তারপর সে নিজের মাথায় হাত দিয়ে কাঁদতে লাগল|
